CHOQUE LAU, art director Esquire NL. A beloved customer from Objet Trouvé with the finest taste. We asked her a couple of questions...
What is the most beautiful exhibition you have seen in the past year?
Unfortunately, I had missed Ed van Elsken's exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
Luckily I got a second chance and I went to the exhibition in Jeu de Paume in Paris.
Best book ever read?
Perhaps not the best book I have ever read, but surely one of my favorite books is Maira Kalman's "The Principles Of Uncertainty" I call it a children's book for adults. Maira made her thoughts (diary) for a year in the form of illustrations and columns for the New York Times. This is later bound as a book.
There is also a dance performance made by choreographer John Heginbotham in New York playing now, I would love to see that!
Favorite place anywhere?
Hong Kong. I believe that everything is possible there. It's so vibrant, 24 hours a day. It's the city that never sits still. I feel unlimited there. We have a nice life there.
Never leave the door without this beauty product?
The day cream from Dermalogica. I use this every day in combination with my pure vitamin C serum from Dear Klairs, it's a Korean beauty product. And both animal-friendly.
What is your favorite Objet Trouvé?
My oversized light blue shirt from Rue Blanche. Always good.
